Pipe rehabilitation using UV-CIPP technology in Bogotá

Project
Pipe rehabilitation with UV-CIPP technology

Location
Bogotá, Colombia

Technology used
UV-CIPP (Cured In Place Pipe)

Diameter intervened
DN750 – DN900

Project description

In Bogotá, Colombia, a successful sewer pipe rehabilitation project was carried out using UV-CIPP technology, an advanced trenchless rehabilitation solution to renew deteriorated sanitation networks.

The intervention was carried out on large diameter pipes (DN750 – 900 mm) that presented severe corrosion, leaks and structural deformations.

Solution applied

UV-CIPP technology involves installing a resin-impregnated fiberglass liner inside the existing pipe. The material is then cured using ultraviolet light, forming a high-strength structural coating that restores the integrity of the sewer system.

Project benefits

• Pipe rehabilitation without excavation
• Reduction of costs and intervention times
• Ideal solution for large diameter pipes
• High structural strength and durability
• Elimination of leaks and infiltrations
• Extension of the network's useful life to up to 50 years

This case demonstrates how trenchless technologies for pipe rehabilitation have become an efficient, sustainable and economically viable alternative for modernizing sanitation infrastructure in modern cities.
